So now the problem is knowing which AI model to choose for development.

New questions for this Token-based economy.

In this article, we are likely focusing on the Linguistic Token (the unit of text) rather than the Financial Token (cryptocurrency), because “Token-based economy” is a buzzword in both the AI and Crypto worlds.

Imagine you have a magic robot that can answer any question, but it doesn’t work for free. To use it, you have to give it tokens (like little pieces of digital candy).

You decide to go to the wholesale store where tokens are super cheap — only $0.03 for a huge bucket of 1 million tokens! This sounds like a great deal, right? You think, “I can have my robot talk all day for pennies!”

“But in a pay-as-you-go economy, cheap units don’t matter if the volume is uncontrollable, and that is where you meet the ‘Whale’.”

In the ocean, a whale is a tiny number of animals that eat a giant amount of food. A whale is a single animal, but because of its sheer scale, it consumes more than thousands of smaller fish combined.

From a dev side, in your app, a “Whale User” is one person (or one broken piece of code) that starts eating all your tokens.
